LAKHIMPUR: A national-level seminar on 'Evolution of Assamese Prose Writing Technique' will be held in North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) on August 8. The seminar has been jointly organized by Sahitya Akademi and the Department of Assamese, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous).

The seminar will commence from 10 am on the designated day at the auditorium of the college, wherein a welcome address will be delivered by Mihir Kumar Sahu, the Programme Officer of the Regional Office of the Sahitya Akademi, located in Kolkata. The inaugural session will be chaired by Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia, the Principal of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous). On the other hand, the keynote lecture will be delivered by literary figure Dr Karabi Deka Hazarika. Former Chief Secretary of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr Basanta Kumar Goswami will be present as guest of honour. The seminar will be held in two technical sessions which will be chaired by prominent litterateurs Phanindra Kumar Dev Choudhury and Jayanta Madhav Borah respectively.
